Anyone here choose between A&M, Alix, and some other usual suspect consulting companies? What made you pick A&M? Do employees generally tend to stick around? How is the culture, decent folks or sharp elbows everywhere? Is the total comp as good as advertised or is this false advertising? I have offers from A&M and Alix and Strat& and am trying to decide soon. Not just looking at comp, but looking to work hard at a place where I can learn a lot too and like the people around me.

Hi everyone, I work at an early stage start up that just closed our round A. I just hired a director below me, however when it was time to come up with an offer I was removed from the conversation. The CO-founders said they’d handle the actual offer amount/equity. I joined early so salary is low but I have decent equity. Not sure if they didn’t want me seeing the offer or if this is normal for early start ups.

I have been faking and slacking for last 2 years. I am not being pushed and challenged at work. Nobody bothers to follow-up on my work. I take my sweet time to do the bare minimum. It’s in the middle of the night so the perfect opportunity to share my story. I was diagnosed with MSH6 Lynch Syndrome in 2017. In order to be proactive I decided to get a full hysterectomy 3 years ago. Because of this I was forced into surgical menopause. I started on Estradiol patches for awhile then moved to a topical cream now am on the pills. Initially Premarin but due to increasing prices I’m back on Estradiol. I don’t sleep very well, still get hot flashes, and experience highs & lows.

If I was a junior on a team during a campaign launch, is that something I can put in my book? I helped during the concepting phase, was responsible for keeping the boards up to date, and wrote a lot of the supporting materials (print, social etc) but obviously I was not on the shoot or the lead on writing the script. As long as I’m clear about my role is that acceptable?

Any recruiters on here who have never reached out about a job and then not followed up? Asking for an industry.

Have an offer from a dream company but I'll need to go in at a lower level. Knowing that I can bring a lot of value to the company (read- I know my worth), I negotiated with the hiring manager to have a level/comp review 6 months after employment. If I hit all my goals (ie, prove myself) within that time frame, I'll get a promotion and salary adjustment.
QUESTIONS:
Should this be in writing in the offer letter?
How detailed should it be? I assume I won't know what goals to set till I start...

Is anyone else facing the brunt of working in a service based company and trying to move to a startup product company being dragged down by the 90 days notice period.

I have had a couple of interviews with good startup product companies where the main issue is my 90 days of notice period. Most startups simply run away at the mention of 90 days NP.

Even established product companies shy away at this. Has anyone recently switched despite this long a notice period?

Is Hillingdon/ Uxbridge a nice area to live and commute into London? SO is starting a job in Ox so considering living somewhere in between.
