I’ve had it happen, but it was for a major US bank. Still thought it was weird as hell to ask me to move 300 miles away for a job with people I had only talked on the phone with.
Accenture offered me a job without any in person interview. Was on the fence about it and ended up turning down the offer. I tried to do an office visit to get a sense of the culture, but the timing just didn't work. Highly recommend going for a visit if at all possible, to see where you'll be working and the type of.people and culture.
Come to think of it did get an offer from ACN without meeting anyone in person.
My flight for the confirming interview got cancelled so did a video conference instead.
Context is: currently in a country that is ~24hrs by flight from the country in which I intend to find a job. Is it unrealistic to get an offer through only Skype interviews? What has been your experience?
I was recently offered a job at one of the big 4s based on Skype only , also my first job out of school which was for a boutique consulting firm was based on just multiple phone interviews. It does happen without the on site interview provided the hiring team really likes your candidacy and are extremely comfortable with the decision
I got one for a startup across the county. They only gave me 48 hours to accept too and I figured it wasn’t worth the risk since I had my doubts
Yes. I interviewed via webex all three rounds and got an offer.
Thanks for the replies everyone. Gives me some hope that it’s not a totally ridiculous thought 😃
Yes
