If you’re in the office, meet with them to give notice in person. Otherwise, give them a call or send an email. Don’t overthink it. Also, I would only give notice to the practice group leader(s), partner I work with the most, and any formal or informal mentors. I wouldn’t feel the need to make rounds to all of the partners.

Agree with this advice. I'll also say, unless you regularly work with the practice group leader or know them well, probably worth making courtesy calls to the other partners you DO work with often before going or sending a formal email to your PGL. Oftentimes the first thing the PGL will do is send it on to the other partners, and I'm guessing there are at least some you'd prefer to hear it from you first.
Just did this for the first time! Here’s my two cents.
Tell people in this order:
1. Mentors and the partners that you are closest to and work with most often
2. PGL and/or OMP
2a. Send email to HR cc’ing PGL and
/or OMP right after 2
3. Partners and associates you are currently working with
Best way to tell people:
1. In person
2. Phone call—if they don’t answer, either ask for a quick call if they are a mentor, PGL, OMP or someone you feel will value a phone call, or send an email if not
3. Email
