Depends on the firm, but it’s pretty common in my firm.

Every firm is different and I would guess it would depend on who you work for (both for clients and partners), but I would assume if your doing good work and the firm has the space available, I assume they would let you do it. The other alternative is they tell you no and then you leave. As far as timing, there will be more concern about whether there are others at the firm that need to train you.
Depends entirely on the firm. My prior and current firm would both entertain this and likely allow the move without much question at all. Especially now since we are in dire need to not lose associates. If anything, the current market is the best ever for you to try this.
FYI, the firm would likely not help cover any of your moving costs since this is your choice but her new employer may.

It depends. My firm is usually pretty flexible, but it’s easier if you’re going from a smaller office to a larger office. Additionally, you’ll want to make sure that the office you want to go to actually does the kind of work you do at your current office.

Common at my firm as well.
