On the bright side, you don't have to worry about retirement because we'll all (most likely) be working until we die.
On the other bright side, we’ll all be retired long before we’re ready to be. But we’ll spend the time looking for that one last job.

Most people at “unlimited” PTO companies are not taking a whole lot more than 15 days
I hated unlimited PTO both as a boss and as an employee. I took fewer days than I did back when I had a ‘target to hit’ because it was use it or lose it. And it was a company benefit, so I wasn’t going to be the jerk that tells my employee they can’t take the days. But I have junior members who would be out of PTO in the new system already and they just started 4 months ago, and I have senior members I’m begging to take some time off. So I’m fine with it going away but the # of days is terrible. I started with 18 days over 2 decades ago.
No the week after Christmas is not given.

Depending on your seniority you can likely negotiate. I negotiated 20 or 25 days (can’t remember) of PTO at Omni in 2023
Ugh that sucks. I’m sorry. I’ve always wished for unlimited PTO. I be maxing out my 15 days every year lol
