To all those in management, how do firms that haven’t instituted pay cuts/furloughs manage to do that? Is it because their clients are still paying the bills, because they are borrowing money, because partners just won’t see profit this coming year? Some combo?

I feel like the majority of partners in my section lack organization, leadership ability, management skills, or even good client management skills. It seems more like they were just the ones that stuck around and kept billing a ton. Is this the norm?

I grew up in a nuclear family away from extended relatives who were never really close. Parents were either emotionally unavailable or distant. All I've wanted for myself was a big loving family to call my own.. my parents are unaccepting of my sexuality & my partners family is also quite fucked up so she's isn't super close to them either. Honestly this sucks & it feels like I'll never have a huge supportive family I've wanted & craved for.
