Got a good eye roll out of this interview. Another good ol’ boy group relying on the “it’s just how the industry is” excuse https://mobile.nytimes.com/2018/05/23/arts/television/arrested-development-netflix-interview-jeffrey-tambor.html
Hey all, So I need an advice. I’ve been through interview process with this company for like 3 months already. Last round of interviews was 4 video chats back-to-back with 4 different people. Hiring manager sent me today a feedback saying that they are still in the process of collecting feedback, but one of the things that popped up was “the lengthy of answers and sometimes not answering the asked questions.” He asks for my take on this and if nervousness played a part in this.
For those interviewing in Bay Area/NYC- has there been any general skills that have been coming up during interviews which companies have especially been seeking?
Interviewing for a job that is a bit of a leap from a leadership perspective. Any tips on how to communicate that you can do the job without a proven history?
If you're applying for a job, and they ask a referral. Who you give? A friend? Colleague..? Assuming your company is not aware you're planning to leave and you want to keep it like that
Guys I’d appreciate your perspectives on this: how big of an asshole am I for staying in the interview process for a few interesting opportunities despite having received an offer from one of my top choices (80% chance will accept). I’m a first year recruiting for summer 2021 internships FYI.
Got an interview opportunity at an IB recently for an Analyst role. I’m a Senior consultant with a Masters Degree with 2 years of work experience. When I asked if they’d offer me Associate instead of Analyst, they said that no one from B4 exits to an IB at associate with just 2 years of work ex. Is this true? Please offer any advise on how I should proceed further. Thanks.

For those who have made the leap to in-house from biglaw, how was it? We’re you scared going in? 5th year Corp. currently on to final round interviews for 3 companies (1 startup with a small legal team and 2 fortune 10 companies). Are companies quick to fire you if they think you’re not a good fit vs the longer, more drawn out lay-off? Was it hard to succeed immediately in-house? Would love to get insights bc I’m nervous about leaving the only thing I’ve known.
Does anyone works as a Financial Analyst at Amazon AWS mind chatting with me please? Feel free to comment below your insights regarding the position/ interviews! Thank you!
Went through the first round interview at EY w 2 managers, with HR saying that I'll be due for the next round with Partner or Associate Partner soon (this was mid December 2020) - just got updated that they have chosen to proceed with another candidate 😭😔 Really wanted this role to pan out - numb doesn't come close to how I feel right now
How do you respectfully buy time when interviewing with multiple projects? I’m talking to a few teams but I’m afraid the one I really want to might take a while to get back to me.
Feeling the panic, been looking for a new job since October (in NYC) and nothing. I’ve had great interviews...just feeling like its never gonna happen...

120k for a senior analyst role at a startup in Bay Area. Does it sound reasonable considering the high living cost?
I hear a lot of bad things recently about Strategy& Middle East, in complete paradox with Booz & Co historical presence in the region (they used to talk about MBBB in the past): - Very bad Inchallah culture, completely dominated by Lebanese coming from AUB. - Greatly overstaffed (trend began weeks before covid) with tons of people on the beach. - Unhealthy competition between partners (they have more than 50 in the region). - Outsourcing their technical work to cheaper PwC. Any info?
I would like to offer personal tutoring next year for 6th grade - Algebra 2. What is a reasonable hourly rate? Thanks in advance!!
Thoughts on getting second professional degree while at big law? Want one because I’m a lifelong learned, but it would send the wrong message.
Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run

What would you say a reasonable amount of dials during cold calling/following up should be during an 8 hour day? Do you cold call, follow up, close the sale, and provide customer service to your clients? If so, what would you say a reasonable amount of calls and/or time on the phone should be? I am trying to get a feel on what others do. I want to change the way my team does things and want to get ideas.
