Heights to the woodlands is like 35 ish which isn’t miserable
Woodlands is a wonderful area!!! Lots near the Mall and other areas around. Lots of Young Pros, too. Sometimes they do go to Houston for some fun (sporting events, restaurants, clubs/bars/etc).
Checkout the woodlands waterway square. Really nice area

I have a place near downtown in Heights that i'm renting for $1,620. 1 bed/1 bath. All private
Personally I’d move out to spring. They have a ton of new development out there.
That property tax is wrapped into rent.
I live at Spring but we love going to The Woodlands and hoping to move there soon. Try to check the millennium waterway or boardwalk at town centre. Good apartment complex options within your budget.
I previously lived in the woodlands (boardwalk at town centre) before relocating to the heights to be closer to the office. The woodlands is a great area, it does skew slightly older (although I was a fresh grad while living there so YMMV) but there are lots of young professionals and plenty of local events. If you like tennis, the woodlands has more public tennis courts per person than anywhere else in the country. There’s usually a couple concerts a week at the pavilion, and as a whole the area is much more walkable than other parts of Houston.
Life is short and Houston's got a diverse economy. Don't waste your life living in a suburban masterplan for a job.
