As I have gotten older, I find I get anxious in crowds. I used to be very comfortable in the middle of a packed crowd at a large concert and now am no longer being comfortable in any type of large event. I think no matter how much you prepare, with crowds of large sizes - there is risk.
Agreed. If we are in a crowded area we stand on the edge so we can more easily escape.
That crowd crush incident in South Korea from a little bit ago reignited my fear around it all. Not gonna say it has stopped me from going to concerts. but the illusion of safety from being at the front (or back) of the crowd is gone for me. So now I “plan” accordingly
Maybe just avoid events from people outright espousing and promoting satanist views. 🤷♂️🤷♂️
Astroworld was a tragic event overran by kids who didn’t know how to behave. The Astros parade was yesterday band the crowd was HUGE with no incident. It not only about organizers keeping people safe it’s about the attendees behaviors.
Exactly. I’m not blaming the victims. A handful of people can cause a massive chain reaction.
I feel safe at large events. But like the comment aboce mentioned, there is always going to be that risk. The best we can do is just be vigilant and try to keep ourselves safe.
I never felt safe at large events. And regarding the organizers, I think they're doing their best but they just need a more effextive strategy. It's been a year since astroworld and here goes the Itaewon tragedy.
I never felt safe at events like that. I prefer to go to concerts with proper seating so I'm not in the middle of a mosh pit involuntarily.
