I think a lot of people in this profession struggle with regulating their emotions, and in particular their stress. So instead of acting reasonably, they take their aggression out on others anytime they have an excuse to do so. It’s so sad. I’m sorry you had this interaction and I hope that attorney learns how to regulate himself.
Well said. Anger is an emotion masked by aggressive attorneys as a tool. “I’m just a bull dog who will win!”. 🙄
Just bill the 0.2 and keep moving - gotta feel bad for those types (or at least their family).
Some also do take pleasure in being nasty and think it's their job to be mean and rude. Nothing you can do about it except be nice and remember that everything you write an emails to them may end up in a pleading in front of the judge. So don't rise to the bait
Yes. Ignore them as best you can. And take pleasure in (respectfully) pointing out any mistake they make in any case you ever have with them again. 🤣🤣🤣
There was a well known plaintiffs counsel in my area of practice I dealt with who wrote his meet and confers specifically telling me that he would educate me and take me back to law school. I laugh about it now. So condescending! I believe it was part of his meet and confer templates. I 100 percent know he takes pleasure talking that way! Some opposing counsel are like that and some act like that in writing but once you get them on the phone, they’re puppy dogs lol it’s just part of the game and dance sometimes, so just roll with it 🕺🕺🕺💃💃💃
It will never end! Just try to ignore it and move on. They are not worth your time.
Some do it to appear "intimidating"
They do it at deps ... Impress their lay person client
