In the same boat. I’m honestly at a point where I don’t really care how good the work is so long as it’s stable, people are nice, and it’s not for something super questionable ethically.
For those asking “why not just stay freelance?” It’s because the instability can be really difficult for financial planning. When there’s mortgages and car payments and families to feed, it’s nice to know how much is coming in and when.
In my case (and in many others) my family also counts on me for insurance, as well. Obama care isn’t cheap (or very good).
Yeah. I hear ya. Places I normally wouldn’t have even given the time of day to as little as a few years ago. I am now clamoring and climbing over the top of 500 other people and begging for table scraps from. Kinda makes me wonder if it’s just time to throw in the towel and try something completely new whatever that is.
If freelancing is paying the bills maybe stick with that for a while. I don’t know what the industry will look like in two years, but do you really want the job and salary that’s available to you in this moment of fear and rudderless change?
I’d kill for some freelance work right now. Or fulltime. Just count your blessings you’re making any kind of money
Do you not make more freelancing though?
It’s too unsteady :( and I really want to make more work.
