I would position your military recruiting experience as directly transferable. I have seen many HR teams value discipline, stakeholder management, and benefits knowledge. I would target HR coordinator or HR operations roles and be very explicit about how your experience maps to civilian HR tasks.
I would encourage you to look for hybrid positions, as fully remote positions are really rare these days. And they are incredibly competitive as well. Hybrid seems to be a lot more reasonable and attainable.
I would suggest targeting government contractors. Many civilian recruiters lack the knowledge of military terms and ranks to staff contracts.

Hi Sharonda! Thank you for sharing your background—it sounds like you have a strong foundation to build on. Your military recruiting and benefits experience is a huge asset because it demonstrates leadership, adaptability, and a mission-driven mindset—qualities we value highly at Schneider Electric.
If you’re open to exploring opportunities with us, check out our military careers page and I'd recommend joining our Talent Community so you can stay connected with roles that match your skills: https://careers.se.com/us-military
Just a quick note: most of our positions follow a hybrid model with a 2-day in-office minimum for employees living within 40 miles of a site (except for roles like Field Service, Outside Sales, and SE Federal, which are fully remote). If fully remote is a must, you’ll want to filter for those exceptions when browsing.
Also, we have a VETS Employee Resource Network that provides community and support for veterans transitioning into civilian careers—it’s a great way to connect and grow once you join.
Wishing you the best on your search!
Thank you so much for the information. I will give the site a look.
