Hi guys,
Need help,I am joining VMware Banglore on 27th June. During interview I told them I need wfh. They said it wil be wfh this entire year. Only mistake I did was i didn't permanent wfh. I took for granted like once I join i can opt for it ( as my VMware friends had said we can opt for it)
Now the offices have started, I am scared if they call me to office , I have 14months son, not willing to leave him n go for office.
So if I ask manager to give me permanent wfh will they agree ?

Don’t bank on anything. Everyone will end up back in the office eventually. Goldman Sachs just dropped all Covid policies - no vaccinations, no testing, no masks. Apple’s going to follow suit. Soon everyone will be back in person no matter what they’re saying now
^I certainly wouldn't bank on a global RTO. It's way too late for that.
Even in the more pro-RTO news outlets Goldman Sachs and Apple are getting bad press for their arbitrary RTO policies. Goldman is notorious for treating its employees like livestock and Apple isn't much better. The very day Goldman implemented their RTO mandate 6 employees walked out in protest.
Not everyone is following suit - far from it. Many are embracing a YES, AND approach, giving them access to the best of all the ways of working in today's world.

Confirming. There are some clients that want regular face time, but outside of that it is fully remote.
FCBHealth full voluntary return. Nothing mandated. No assigned seats. A lot of newly hired staff does not live in NYC area anyways.
FCB Chicago on the other hand is 3 days a week mandatory :(
