Happy Saturday! Name something fun you did this past week!

I grabbed a bike and went for a ride around my neighborhood. The weather was nice, and it gave me a chance to clear my mind.

Very nice! I want to go bike riding someday. Just been busy with work and life.

Let's see. I threw my favorite coffee cup against the break room wall. No, just kidding. When I wasn't in the throes of a mental breakdown, I did take the family to the zoo on Saturday to feed the swans, laugh at the monkeys, and be amazed at the power of some of our largest mammals.

Lol. Nice! The last time I went to the zoo was last year when I went to the Zoo lights. Pretty fun stuff.

We threw a going away party for a coworker at a local pub. It was lots of fun to hang outside of the office. Love how relaxed everyone was although the wine and beer might have helped that along - lol.

Nothing fun with some adult fun with friends and coworkers! I had one of those when I left my first job in logistics. Man I miss those guys!

I saw an old friend I hadn't seen since high school, it was so surreal! And also amazing it was like no time had passed we just picked up right where we left off.

I love reconnecting with old friends. Have to enjoy those moments!

Hi! I have worked in management roles in tech, mainly in analytics, for approximately 10 years. My TC has fluctuated (currently around 135K CAD), but it seems like it's relatively easy to breach the 100K bar, but hard to breach the 150K bar. I now work at the CBC, but I have worked in the private sector too. What is the most realistic way to move to 200K? 1) Continue moving the ladder to a VP position, 2) Switch to Pre-Sale, 3) Switch to Consulting, 4) Work from a U.S. company from Canada.

Hello!

Any advice on how to request a 20% raise? This is my first career out of college. I signed my offer letter knowing that I was being underpaid by 10%, as per the posted position salary. My 1-year appraisal is close and I would like to request 20% based on an increased workload; I would also like to make up for being underpaid my first year.

My dilemma: Many companies only pay up to a 4% raise. However, that will not cover much in this economy, and I would still be still underpaid.

Looking to get advice on two different job offers. I am only concerned about long term career prospects in choosing one or the other. Offer 1: warehouse manager for a beverage company. I am looking for new opportunities as Supply chain analyst or related area. What is the best way to approach the company in Europe? How does it impact without local language?

It’s very discouraging to continuously receive these rejection emails. With 9 years of supply chain experience, I am not sure why I would not be able to at least get an interview for entry level roles that require no experience. Not just this one pictured but others as well. I’ve applied to maybe 60 positions since May, both mid level and “entry” and no interviews. I’ve had my resume professionally re-written twice. Not sure where the disconnect is. Anyone else going through this same thing?
