I got an Exogun for $160 or so and I like it for any general muscle soreness and can definitely help loosen up stiffness in the hips especially where it can be hard to stretch! Very convenient to just target a spot when you need it

Start running regularly. Even if you are not a runner, go for long brisk walks first, jog for a few minutes during your walks, then start doing some longer runs during the week using proper form. Massages and massage gadgets are not a solution and will exacerbate the problem in the long run.

Massages and massage gadgets mask the problem through some pain relief mechanism when the real damage is piling up due to muscle weakness and increased structural stiffness. Massage gadgets are useful to soothe soreness after an exercise, but not after hours of sedentary sitting.
