Ideas for xmas gifts for in laws? Let’s say $100 per person. Specifically MIL, FIL, BIL, SIL...... any suggestions would be helpful to avoid the last minute panic-buying!

Basically, is it worth the price and is it easy to use for someone who isn’t very technical 😂

Just adopt the Hanukkah tradition of “gelt” aka money. Write them each a check and call it a day!

funny

A nice bottle of whatever they drink

A dinner reservation for all of them

Hmmm not a bad idea

Ages? Interests?

MIL and FIL are older...60s and live in Midwest. They’re active in the sense that they like to do walks every day with their dog in near by park but by no means yoga/avid hikers. Both lawyers and both love to be outside (gardening, snowshoeing, etc).

BIL/SIL - mid/late 20s, more active, avid skiers, love to read, love to debate, socially/politically active

Can get advice on TC?
Let’s say your original TC in your current is 300k, but because of stock appreciation, your actual TC now is 500k (same base, same bonus, but stock appreciated). When negotiating with new company, will the new company consider your TC as 500k, or 300k? Thanks

I’ve been in my current position (Bookkeeper) for 4 years now. I’m highly interested in taking the PHR, and I’m wondering if I would qualify for the 4 year HR professional job requirement to be eligible to test for the certificate. I work for a small business, therefore I do all the on boarding paperwork/payroll. Any advice is appreciated.

One key selling point, as they are trying to offer is the opportunity to work one day a week to use for things like training, acquiring certifications or building applications that you are interested in.

This sounds amazing. I don't get that at my current job. So, is this too good to be true? I would like your opinion on this.

I tried asking this in my own bowl with no responses, so seeing if other consultants have run into this situation. I’m on parental leave, I got an offer for another firm, great opportunity and pay. How does one go about a resignation mid-leave when you would start the new job before the leave ends? Two weeks notice or just say I am not returning effective the day of the new job?
