A PIP is serious, and I won’t sugarcoat it. In many cases, it’s not about improvement — it’s about building a legal case to terminate someone. The expectations outlined in a PIP are often unrealistic by design. I completely understand that you’re feeling anxious and stressed right now — that’s a natural reaction. But this is the moment to stay calm, focused, and strategic.
The first step you should take is to consult a labor attorney and have them review the PIP. It’s important to understand your rights and options. At the same time, I strongly recommend that you start looking for a new job immediately. You don’t want to work under someone who operates this way — trust me.
