The new company I’m at now sent me an email from an email address that was HR@companyName.careers saying I was accepted for the position. They gave me paperwork to fill out and sign to accept the position
I fill out the paperwork and send it back to them and it goes through… then a few days later I go back to the email to say something else and I get this…?
Then today I got a check from the company In the mail to setup my home office, and it’s signed by someone I’ve never met before or heard of…?
What…..

Hi everyone. A PDM specialist here. Joined Deloitte 5+ years back as ‘Senior Solution Engineer -On-site’.Later in June 2017 all these ‘on-site’ folks got rebranded as PDM. Slowly started to realize how PDM is getting sidelined as a ‘discountable’ group. Sometimes I feel contract jobs are better than being at PDM , but obviously tied up with D for visa related issues. No career progression so far and don’t see any positive changes in the near future as well.I think it’s high time to call it a day.

Had my Aeron for about 15 years now. Worth every penny even though it was a stretch to afford at the time. Your back isn’t worth cheaping-out on.
Bought the gesture last summer and would do it again.
Update:
Thanks for the feedback guys.
Officially pulled the trigger on a Steelcase Gesture in leather.
I bought an Aeron chair 10-15 years ago, long before we were WFH. My home office chair was better than the one in my old offices at the time. A good chair is important. Try to sit in one first before ordering or make sure there is a period of time you can try it out and return if needed.
Get a refurbished Aeron, def worth the $400-$500

I got a Steelcase Gesture last summer. My cheap office chair from staples wasn't cutting it for tax season. Totally worth it to me.
I love it. No matter how long a day I work, I'm not in pain. I love that the arms are 4-way adjustable. I paid extra for the headrest and for leather, so it would last even longer. So it was NOT cheap, and I justified it as an investment.
(I used to have an Aeron at an old job, but I wasn't a fan because it was a large, and I'm still able to shop in the petite section. I just wasn't sure if I needed a small or medium if I went with Aeron, and you couldn't try them out then.)
Bought an Aeron about 6 months ago after having a Walmart chair. Game changer…would recommend waiting for them to announce a sale, they’ll have them occasionally
