If it's your first one in a year you can get it off your record by taking a defensive driving class. You go to the court first and ask for that option and pay them a processing fee then you take the class for a small fee and send the court the certificate and it comes off your record so insurance doesn't see it.
Yes, as above but often the court just offers it outright without even having to ask in my husband’s experience. 😂
It depends on what your ticket was for. I was caught going 65 in a 40 (empty road) on my motorcycle. Had to hire a lawyer as I couldn’t take the class. Just had to pay some court fees on top of lawyer fee (~$200) and not get any more tickets for a few months. Worth it to me because it would be a lot of points and the insurance would just even more.
How much over were you ticketed for?
$200 or something
Ticket was dismissed after contesting.
