I work at one, and I don't know what you mean exactly by "as bad as they say" but I can tell you it's not a pretty place
Hello, I have not been in prison but I am a social worker and it is something I deal with on a daily basis, a lot depends on the prison because I have seen that some people leave more traumatized than others, but it is something that changes you and it is rarely for good
Hello, Greetings from Ohio. I was incarcerated from when I was 18 years old until I was 20. I was involved in a case of armed robbery, in my case the prison was horrible, but it helped me understand that it is a place I do not want to return to.
I am a police officer, but I know firsthand how bad prison is, my brother was in jail for more than 5 years, and when he left he did nothing but commit new crimes, when he entered jail it was for a stupid thing that It cost him 5 years of his life, but when he got out his chances of doing something good diminished and he had new bad habits, and I feel like in a way he wanted to go back to prison. I think so, the prison is as bad or worse than it is described.
My brother is in one, I visit him from time to time. Oddly enough, it depends slightly on the person because some people have worse experiences than others. But in general, they are not a good place at all.
I haven't been to jail myself, but I've heard that it's not a fun experience. Most people say that it's really dirty and uncomfortable, and that the food is terrible. Plus, you usually have to share a cell with other inmates, which can be dangerous.
