What happened when Veritas spun out guidehouse?
A recruiter reached out to me about a practice leadership role they are looking to fill. Looks like a relatively fast growing boutique focused on the middle market. Comp numbers sound fairly strong if you make your numbers (more eat what you kill approach) and there is an equity upside.
What questions should I be asking to assess reality vs. bluster?
Great question. Can’t say I know it yet but definitely something I intend to ask.
Worked alongside them on a recent project. Did a solid synergy / org analysis - seem operationally focused from my sample size. Agreed their comp is competitive based on the LinkedIn ranges posted. If I was able to relocate I'd be interested.

Recruiter reached out to me once too. I take it you are not in restructuring as they are well known as a smaller boutique restructuring firm. Restructuring has a big 3 and then a number of smaller players that have some good people. Middle market restructuring, which I think is where they play is conducive to smaller firms stepping in as cases are often sold based on a particular individual relationship and in the mid market you often just need the restructuring skill set and not deep industry / other functional expertise.
I am not in the restructuring space. Sounds like they generally have a good reputation as a smaller boutique in that space and they’re looking to expand in other adjacent areas to continue their growth trajectory.
