Has anyone here felt that the further you get in your career the harder interviewing gets? Personally, it feels like I blank out to interviewer’s questions because all my years at work start to blend together. Do you have any tips I could use to start interviewing better for higher positions?

Happens all the time to me. I’ve been unemployed for 4 months now and have been butchering interviews at a record pace. Also having effin 5-6 rounds of interviews to get a job has become a norm these days. Like wth, especially for senior roles.

No, I am not in Stellantis Finance

I've experienced just the opposite. Every opportunity to interview has been an opportunity to work through the nerves and fear, which allows mw to be more composed and a better communicator. The absolute best way of getting over the fear of "losing a job" is to get that rejection email. Sure, it's still disappointing, but no longer makes me think that I wasn't a great option pr that I somehow messed up the interview.

Now that I am 7 months into unemployment, the harder part is trying not to think that every interview is the job that's going to fix everything and save the house. I have to remind myself that I am interviewing for a good job, not a life fix. I can't let the negativity of the current situation cloud my job hunt.

I've been there. i did so much over the years that i forgot or I don't recall it immediately.

I started to do a brain dump into AI. I also added my resume . I put in stories at work. It took a while to remember many stories and i haven't told it everything just things that stick out.

I did asked it what are the top 20 questions asked during interviews. I then asked Ai how to answer based on my stories, experience, resume, and skills.

I reviewed what it gave back to me.

It's not perfect. And it is still a bit difficult to remember some things. But after a few interviews it gets easier.

The funny thing is, on certain interviews when I match perfect, I rarely need notes, I flow very well. The problem is they always have an internal candidate or the job gets pulled.

Yes definitely. And they put you through so many more rounds of interviews. I think part of it is the market right now but definitely they are more intense with you further you get into your career cause you’re also usually interviewing for a higher position

They've gotten easier and easier for me, since I've gained more experience with every position, and know most questions the would ask and can answer confidently.

Hi everyone, a question to the tech industry at large.

Why are people so hesitant to hire disabled candidates?

I am a visually impaired practitioner in South Africa, with 7 years of experience, and as soon as recruiters or business owners hear/read that I'm disabled, the conversation gets awkward and I never hear from them again.

Those of you with a degree in computer science (or similar), what do you do for work and how did you end up doing that?

Should I leave my first permanent job as a team leader of 4 DPs in a FMCG business (only been there for 4 months) to join a huge Tech business for a 12months contract?

They offer me 60% more money than my permanent role. Circa 2000 dollars every month in my pocket

However, I am worried if I accept the tech role and I do not become permanent I will be looking again for a job in 12-24 months and my CV won't be showing a managerial position. Won't be showing any progress.
