Joined Lifetime Fitness. Membership fees are about the same as a country club.
How much do you think it costs?
Brewery running clubs are free, fun, and inclusive. Depends what you like doing. Drop some hobbies and let the bowl cook for ya.
I have some friends who joined F45 (not sure if they still go) but seems like they have joined a social group of friends they go out with and hang with after class. Running clubs at some of the breweries are legit and not intense. People always having fun after for a beer or 2 (holler and eureka heights I’ve gone to and everyone enjoys new company). I think there is some group called moms walking club I think I’ve seen down on the bayou on some weekends lol. I’m not a country club guy. If you’re into art, second Saturdays in sawyer yards is a great inlet to meet people - especially artists. Lots of doors open and drinks inside the studios to make covo and potentially friends with them and that network of folks.
Following. Looking at Briar Club but struggling with justification of the initiation fees
I was a member as a kid but after about middle school my parents couldn’t justify the prices! And that was close to 20 years ago. I can’t imagine now
Westside Tennis and Fitness (not really a tennis club, more a family club). Great place for kids. Awesome workout facility that isn’t packed
Westside is the best deal in town.
Just my 2c but I have no idea why anyone would want to join a country club. Up to $20,000 a year for what? You have to pay for food if you dine on top of that. And is it just me but the ones I’ve been in seem so old and stale. They are all so huge they feel institutional and cold. There could be 500 people there and you wouldn’t know it bc the buildings are so big.
The Woodlands CC is $25,000 down and $850/month.
Westside is not a country club but has all the amenities of one. And much more of a community
For a fraction of the price.
Park House because I don’t have kids. If I had kids, I would want a place with a pool. The Houstonian isn’t that crazy. I think it’s like 10k initiation for a jr member.
They have events and a nice restaurant and a couple nice bars. My wife and I enjoy going there for a weekend night out because it’s fun and has a good, older (than most bars on a Saturday night), more upscale crowd.
I used to work at a country club. It amazed me that so much planning and effort went into making sure to further enrich the lives of those who were already very well entertained.
I’m a member of the Woodlands country club.
