How do you appease the client when they call and ask when their tax returns are done and they want them done now but they are further down the queue of returns because they submitted their PBCs later than other clients who submitted their source docs on time?

When non-ad ppl ask you what do you do? In terms of title; do you tell them “copywriter”? Or immediately assume they dont know and might confuse it with copyright infringement, and just end up telling them that you’re a writer or a creative director, and skip the hassle

How can I sell my 2 years of clerkship as valuable experience for corporate work? I would like to get credit for at least one year (at least in salary, if I can’t in seniority). I know for litigation they are more clearly valued and linked to that type of work, but I have reconsidered my interests and now am thinking of going into corp. However, I don’t want to feel like I wasted 2 years clerking (which I don’t feel like that, but I have to convince an employer of that too). Any help or insight?

Lateral that just went through first bonus season with the firm. Not in a major market but workload is comparable to major markets. Surprised at how low the bonus was. I received solid reviews and my annualized hours were well above the requirement. Should I approach anyone about this? Wondering if it is worth addressing or if it could compromise my standing. Advice for attacking the data room and putting together my first sell-side disclosure schedules? (Baby M&A att’y 2 months in). Working on some law firm applications tonight and it sucks that I know that I am so capable and have a strong work ethic but firms can’t see beyond grades or the fact that I didn’t go to a t14 law school or prestigious undergrad. I’ve worked twice as hard and feel like I’ve barely even gotten half as much. Any big law associates looking to transfer out of Texas in light of the new laws repressing women's rights? My firm has an office in Colorado and a group of 4-5 of us have been discussing transferring today. Rent/Housing is roughly the same in the two states.

How do you bill your time? The busier I am the harder it is to bill. How do people actually bill contemporaneously in detailed terms when you bill 12 hours but literally did 100 different things in those 12 hours. And it’s never slow enough to go back and do it super detailed.

Give me the strength to set a boundary today and do something fun instead of waiting by my computer for emails
