Has anyone travelled to the Ritz Carlton in St. Thomas since the pandemic started and can share their experience / recommendations? Booked a trip but most online reviews are pre-pandemic / renovation.

People have been poo pooing going to Hawaii due to lack of reservations for activities and poor service due to understaffing. I have a Maui trip planned in Sept and I'm thinking about putting it off. Is it that bad? I'm staying at the Ritz.

General musing - it seems like the vast majority of recs in here are for super expensive hotels and resorts (St Regis, etc). I hate my job so much. It’s like when I’m there I feel like I’m wasting my time like I’m losing money being there. It’s an operations job and quite honestly stayed too long. There are processes where there are 20 things to do just to send the P&L out. It’s such a relic. I am 36 and freaking out because I want to do something new. We’ve been maxing out 401ks and IRAs for years and started contributing 20k a year into a taxable account to start filling the gap since we can’t access 401k until 55. At what point should we be reducing 401k/IRAs and redirecting to the taxable account? Otherwise our income balloons late in life. Curious how others are managing this.
