Have no idea but congrats OP! I’ll also be joining big pharma in that area soon :)
You’re very welcome! What company? Haha
It's usually 180k-200k base and 20% bonus for most roles.
Pro
Yup 300-350K total comp
BTW BCG2 - could you share data points on this? What was the comp structure like?
~220-250k including base + bonus
Nope. I would say 200k fix base + ~20% fix bonus with some upside and then equity bringing in total to 300k
300k?
300k
How should I be thinking through the various parts of comp and other benefits?
If it helps, background is PhD, ~2 years consulting experience.
if you're leaving an engagement manager role I've seen most people enter industry at around $200k base.
Depends of which Pharma but close to $300K TC including bonus and equity.
Where you an EM at McK?
Sounds good, M1 😁
Wow, OP you got the Director role with only 2 years of experience? Those McKinsey exits must be 🔥 🔥 🔥
At BCG, I think only PLs or above can exit into Director roles
It helps but only for some firms (and only slightly for the large pharmacos).
More relevant for biotechnology firms given they’re more early stage and often looking for 1. Credibility and/or 2. Quick uptake on the science
I have seen Director/VP exits that specifically require a PhD or MD (across Portfolio Mgmt, BD, New Products, Corp Strat).
VC/HF also generally have higher preference for doctorate degrees.
So moving to Philadelphia area !
Well definitely hiring there. Unless u prefer NJ
