It’s not a pharma advertising ban. It’s a ban on DTC TV ads. And let’s be honest, no one likes them or finds value in them other than our clients and our agency leadership ($$$). Good riddance.

It’s not a ban 🤦♂️
It’s giving Hims and Hers and all those things are about to have to change their approach

TBH that's the part I kind of like. It's very sketchy that all our laws about advertising these drugs seem to go out the window as soon as the advertiser is a healthcare facility rather than the manufacturer.
meanwhile, these same hacks shilling unregulated supplements and ivermectin on the side
Ssshhhh we’re not supposed to point out the double standards
I know Pub Groupe was having a meeting about this today. IMO the lack of specificity allows him the lack of accountability so, per usual, he can say he’s making an impact without setting measurable goals so no one can track the impact. While agencies have a right to be concerned, I don’t see much action actually coming out of this…
From what I’m reading, it does not look like he is banning DTC ads, just ensuring they maintain fair balance of side effects.

A new format- the 5 minute ad, with an unfair balance - :30 of benefits and 4:30 of major statement.
Editor 1 exactly! In my experience, manufacturers have been extremely conservative with marketing. The telehealth companies, not so much. But the gov makes it seem like manufacturers are running wild. All ads do is tell people to ask their doctor about [drug].
