sorry dont have time to take on another mentee at the moment but would say try starting with a mind map, brainstorm, what you like what you don't, what are your strengths and weaknesses, and then map out the companies/functions and roles that you are interested in - think out of the box too, then think where you have skills gaps you might want to fill to get there.
Thank you so much for the advice. I am doing that, but I get confused with what skills/ certifications do I need to advance ? Also, how to break into a industry that I like to work which is absolutely different than what I am currently doing. Again, thank you so much for your input
Hi there, I am a career coach and help people who feel exactly the way you are feeling right now. Would you be open to a discussion?
I am in the same boat. The agency I started working with to help place me also shut down. Everyone in my team has work and I was constantly told to find work for my self. Everything I identify and put proposals structures teams is given to someone else..any advise or mentor who can help me. I feel my mental health is taking a big toll
Thank you for sharing your experience.
Hey, have been through this earlier in my career (and alter too). Please feel free to DM me.
I currently work I the data space but have worked in architecture, tech strategy, op model, lots of different things
Thank you so much for your reply. I will send you a message.
Re: what skills/certificates to get
Have you tried finding potential mentors or insight from the leaders in roles at companies you're interested? They might be able to provide insight into what education is required. Also, different companies can have different expectations for the same role and some even have options to learn on the job or continue certifications ince hired.
I'm so sorry you've had that experience, it truly is disheartening. I'm not sure if it's just timing or something else. This is also basically cold calling so I wouldn't expect a super successful response rate.
If you can't find anyone to help point you in the right direction, perhaps compare your skill set to what you see in job postings you would want. You might find a common experience or educational component desired and I would start there.

If you don’t know what to do focus on what you are good at and what you like to do. You have to start somewhere and then it’ll lead you to where you need to be.
