Yeah I was working hard to buy a home and now I'm being laid off. I was working remote and moved snd was ready and built a community and am so happy and then bam... can never escape the toxic sludge of the city career. I also was going to buy more apartment stuff as i do every paycheck like water fountains, curtains, rugs, more plants, balcony swing, paint, wallpaper, revamp my summer clothes, vacations. I was going to WI to see Hozier in June and got the ticket, but now I can't. I was also going to Charleston SC and I cant and I was going to go home for Easter and passover (mother is Jewish, father is Christian), but I can't too bc of expenses so yeah pretty much my life is now on hold. I had big plans, but now I don't and once again I'm unable to see my family for important holidays which I'm getting sick of. Life feels like I can never get a firm grip on even when I do the "safe government contracting job."
So pretty much all expenses...... :(
I will say if I could buy a house rn, I would. Ik everyone's saying they'll get cheaper bc of a recession, but I think houses aren't looked at the same anymore. Everyone is fighting to get them. There's no renting suits some better. With the tarrifs if they go into effect critical supplies will be hard to get and with the mass deportations labor will be more expensive. That's just my guess.
Straddling the same boat. We own a home but looking into moving to a different county for better schools. Focusing on a plan B for employment given the current climate so home search is on pause.
Definitely not making any big purchases in the near future.
Yep, we were about to undergo a major remodel. We are no longer doing that and I’m pretty disappointed but not worth the risk.
We wanted to wait to buy a car until after things settle. Then one of our cars got totaled when it was double rear ended on the highway out of nowhere. 🙃
