Sometimes a person has to do this in order to get more pay later. It’s a great way to get more experience.
Pro
anyone that tells you that is gaslighting you
No bump in pay? Current position will I stay.
Also start searching for a place where your value is recognized.
Pro
definitely need to start looking. tired of becoming a dumping ground
Pro
Yes, I’ve heard of that! It’s a tricky situation, isn’t it? I’d probably weigh my options carefully. Staying might offer experience, but if it’s too much, moving could be better!
Pro
stay for a little bit and pitch in to help the business but should never be a permanent thing
I've known of them as promotions in name only. More responsibility comes along with a nicer title, but the compensation doesn't follow. The key is to be wary ahead of time and don't accept bogus promotions. If a promotion doesn't include a salary bump, it's bogus.
Pro
definitely bogus and happens a lot more frequently than people realize, best to get out to a different opportunity
I didn't know there was a term for it but yes, that happens often. And sadly they will keep piling on you with on increase in pay if you let them. I would start looking for something else if it were me.
Pro
already in the process of looking for something else. If you are great at doing something, why do it for less compensation is my motto?
Best way to make more money is to move companies
