Advice needed - boyfriend has almost 3.5 years of finance experience at a bank. Interviewed for PwC valuation senior associate and now recruiter says they want to hire him at “experienced associate” because he has no valuation experience. Is this too big of a step backwards in career? Should he push back and see if it gets him anywhere? If he does accept Associate, is it reasonable to ask for written, definitive timeline (1 year?) for promo to Senior upon meeting standards? Help!

Don’t take any client just because you’re new to starting a practice and need revenues. Focus on getting clients that you’re qualified to serve, that pay your fees at high realization, and that want to do things correctly.
Biggest tip is develop a system to track and follow up on leads. You will need to have some discipline in sales to keep the business growing.
Thank you for the tip
So cool, starting a firm sounds exciting! Biggest challenges? Probably building trust as a new firm and managing cash flow early on. For clients, start with your network, LinkedIn, and maybe small biz groups?? If I were you I'd probably offer free consults to show your value. What niche are you focusing on?

Have good system to track tasks. It is easy when you have few clients but it will be a nightmare after it is not done correctly.
Awesome…. Congratulations

We are not looking to hire anyone at the moment, because we are just getting started. You have a great amount of experience. Once the company grows we will definitely be looking for talent.
