I am a paralegal still starting out in this field looking to specialize in IP.I have three years of experience as a paralegal and most job postings I’m finding for IP require 5+ years of experience in IP(even entry level). Iv still applied to both IP and corporate law postings and have had no luck.Please let me know if anyone knows of a corporate or IP firm looking to train paralegals they hire in IP or corporate in the NY,NJ, PA or DC area.Your feedback is greatly appreciated!

What’re the various agencies/components’ return to office dates (if announced)? And what’re the remote work policies after that date? Paralegals: My firm is looking for a paralegal, and I see the job posting advertising the salary as $65-$75k, with benefits. Is this a good salary for a paralegal (Greater LA area)? I’m not the decision maker, but it’s been a few weeks with very few applicants. I’m curious if there’s something hurting the firm in its search.

What were some effective tips or resources that helped you to learn the systems of your first firm? The thought of Attorneys talking down on Paralegals is sickening.

For those of you who made the switch to in house/corporate law, what was your experience like? Did you have to take a lower position to gain the experience or were you able to argue that your soft skills were transferable to in house? I’ve been in litigation for 15 years and I’m looking to make the switch. Ultimately, I’d like to get into Legal Ops, but feel getting some in house experience first would be beneficial.

I have my first case review I am kind of nervous about it, wish me luck. I am not scared, I am just nervous about it.

When you walk in Friday morning to a dumpster fire of a file (that you’ve never worked on before) sitting on your desk, with no note or email to go with it. It’s as if I’m supposed to magically divine what to do with it. 🤦🏼‍♀️

(1/2) I started a new job less than a month ago at a large firm with a significant pay increase. I work remotely- which is a special arrangement. They paid for my travel to their headquarters for in-person training. After interacting with my manager and some of the attorneys, I feel like I made a mistake. Manager is demeaning and rude. A bunch of the attorneys dropped not so subtle hints that people who work from home are causing all kinds of problems. I don’t know what to do.
