How are they taking credit for your work? Like the ideas or the final output?
Do not let the "successful language guy" win the game, defend yourself with numbers and with your development of the project.
It's disgusting to have people like that, the first thing you should do is stop calling them a partner because obviously, they are not, the second thing is to go to the person responsible for evaluating the project and comment that it was not the work of that person but a team effort.
You must continue working and take care of that in the future, do as if you did not care but from the next job keep everything that has to do with the work you did after that and use the same words to present your work in the future and not I can take away your achievements.
It is very unpleasant to have colleagues like this, but it is something too common, there is always a person waiting to take advantage of hard-working people and in marketing, it is very common to see this. My advice is to take care of yourself here in the future, keep track of what you do and always inform your boss of your progress.
You must first of all be aware that this is normal, it is something that has to motivate you, you do not have to feel bad, you already lived it and it will not happen to you again.
Do not fall for that thief, rather take it intelligently and prepare a better project or a better job, and when he tries to steal it because he will, use those great words.
Have you discussed this with your director? Is there a need for you to share with that person before sharing with upper management? This should never happen, sorry you are going thru that.
You should consider talking to your manager about the situation and documenting all of the work that you have completed in case it comes up again.
I can't believe people resort to doing this. What even is the need to steal someone else's work? If you're not good enough to come up with your own ideas, then maybe you should seek a different line of work.
Damn, I'm so sorry you're going through this. How long has this been going on for, and do you think you could find a solution without making a whole thing out of it and disrupting your team?
I would definitely report this. It's so disrespectful to use your influence on others in order to get ahead of their team AND with stolen work.
I agree that you should talk to your manager or any higher-up ASAP. No one should ever do this. If this was one of my people, I would fire them immediately.
Sorry that's happening. I went through that as well and it's hard to deal with, especially if management doesn't take notice.
