Hello, I am a tax professional with 3 years experience focused on individual taxation which I love. I want to branch into the specialized area of estates and trust taxation. I am an Enrolled Agent and will be focusing my CE in this area. I currently work for a small CPA firm but want to leave after tax season (next summer/fall). I'd like to know where is the best place to look for fiduciary tax focused roles. A large CPA firm? Wealth Mgmt firm? Law firm? Other? Any advice is welcomed.

So I worked from home yesterday and my husband had a sneak peak on my meetings with clients (which I’m very new to being a senior). He mention that I should read some sales pitch books of some sorts so I can get a process down and not be drain from having genuine conversations with every client. I think it’s a great idea. Anyone have thoughts or recommendation?

Am I understanding utilization rate correctly? It’s chargeable time over total time? Charged 40 hours and had 10 hours non-charge so my utilization is 80%? If so, wouldn’t it benefit me to understate non-charge hours so my utilization is higher since they only really care about chargeable time anyways? Charge 40 hours still but only put 5 hours non-charge for utilization to be 89% instead of 80%? Or am I misunderstanding how utilization works?
