The more time you spend in the corporate world the more you realize how utterly soulless it is. They use these “good feel” programs as pure virtue signaling. They don’t care about minorities, racism, disability. They only care to implement programs that help protect them from liability, and improve their social standing amongst their peers or industries. It’s all a farce. DEI for example, in practice majority only helped white women. Look at the leadership of these consulting places and you’ll see how white it still is, just has more women now.
I’m sorry you’re going through this. I feel for you as a fellow disabled person myself.
They want to see real-world work experience, not advanced degrees. I know people with PhDs who are bagging groceries. You should've worked while obtaining your MBA. Both my daughter and niece have one, and they worked while attending school. That would've helped your job search immensely. Don't blame your decisions on employers who can choose from thousands of qualified job applicants in this economy. I would start by volunteering somewhere while you seek employment. I had over a decade of lapse in my work history, but I volunteered during that time. Employers loved that I was dedicating my time to a worthy cause and looked at it as having worked with no lapse in my employment history. With your education, you can help out an array of non-profits while you seek full-time employment. Best of luck!
