Has anyone ever asked to renegotiate their salary after starting a job? I’m 2 months into my new job and I have far more responsibilities than what I was told. It’s a lot different than what was relayed in the posting and during the interviews. Additionally, they hired my counter part in as a senior manager which is at least $30k more than what I make. My peer has more experience so I expect that but I feel that I should be paid more, however I don’t want to leave a bad impression… any advice?

I was once an underpaid clinical fellow and looking back, I wish I had more detailed information on compensation and salary. ASHA’s national survey and averages were minimally helpful when local rates across settings can vary so much.

I have my annual review next week. Starting my 7th year at the current job. 13+ years in the field. But my current company is a nonprofit. They are great. But annual raise has always been 2%. We as a community need to stick together to make the value of SLPs known. When I was just starting in the field for my CFY I was offered $31/hr for a job in an SNF (in 2018). At this time I was fresh out of college and did not know what pay to expect because no one talks about it. - I did not take the job due to it being a little over an hour from my home but later learned that was not a good rate.
