Any guys in LA?
Toronto ad fish 🤠 I’ve spent most of my career working as a copywriter in London (6 years here, 2 years Toronto) and the market is pretty different here. I’m planning on moving back home but wondered….how do you find work in Toronto? Agencies barely post openings, is the recruiter scene strong? Is it mostly who you know?
What makes you really happy?

Unfortunately, not many speech pathologists are on Fishbowl. Those on Fishbowl rarely post too, at least from what I have seen. You are actually the first SLP I have seen post on Fishbowl, even though I have been on Fishbowl for months. Speech pathologists are ridiculously underpaid. I recently interviewed for an inpatient position at a large acute hospital, which is part of a big hospital group in Washington DC. The starting pay was only $33/hour! Can you imagine how to survive on such a low hourly wage in such an expensive area in this country? I was told with my three years full time work experience in medical speech pathology, and my many advanced training and certification, I will only be getting a bit higher. Nothing else. How did our profession end up in such a pathetic state as it is today, where speech pathologists are overworked but ridiculously underpaid? Can any speech pathologist enlighten me, please?
I 100% agree with this, us OT’s also lack the balls for proper compensation. I can’t comment so much on the productivity levels for SNF since I haven’t worked in that capacity but those numbers sound absurd. 🤯
