Hello! I’m planning a trip to Canada (first time!) and am staying with a friend in Toronto from Mid May till Early June (2 weeks?). I’m from SEA so I’m looking forward to the cold!

EDIT:
I love food so any recs for good places to eat will be amazing.

I’m thinking of going to Niagra Falls and Montreal. Unfortunately I can’t drive so I’ll probably have to fly/take trains to get about. Canadian Rockies is on my list but I would have to travel from Calgary? Am I squeezing too much for 2 wks?

Definitely go to Niagara Falls. Visited for the first time two weeks ago and it was well worth the 2hr drive

like

I think you misunderstand the size of Canada or at least where things are... The Rockies are nowhere near Toronto and are not day trippable.

funny

Oops sorry you’re right! I should have said that I was willing to fly into Calgary. Thank you I guess I might be too ambitious to go there within 2 weeks

The Canadian Rockies are at least a four-day drive from Toronto (not a day tour). You would have to fly into Calgary or Vancouver and join a bus tour from there.

Thanks!

Go to the Toronto islands for a day trip and walk around and eat at the island cafe.
Walk around Queen west, people watch in trinity bellwoods park, go to Ossington for a fun patio and neat shops
Catch a baseball game
You might be around cherry blossom season (weather dependent) so would go to high park
Go to Kensington market - pedestrian Sundays start end of May and they close everything down and it’s a big street festival.

Some classic Toronto restaurant favs:
Bar Isabel
Broadview hotel rooftop
Byblos
Piano piano
Terroni

If you’re going to Niagara might as well hit a wine tour as well (Niagara on the lake)

It’s also won’t be that cold….

Thank you for kindly typing everything out!! Really appreciate it and OMG YES CHERRY BLOSSOM 🥹

How would you get to Niagara Falls and Montreal without driving?

Also skip any of the restaurants in the hotels at Niagara Falls they are super overpriced and not good
