Hey All! Current 1st year MBA student here really struggling on choosing an internship. I really wanted to pivot into a PM role, but getting some traction in other directions. Which internship offer would you say has the most upside?

1) FAAMG Product Marketing Manager

2) Gaming Tech Strategy (think Riot/Activision/Blizzard/King/EA/Epic). I have been told this is a pipeline to a rotational program or PM role

3) Forget PM, go MBB or bust and then try to pivot into big tech strategy&ops

Anyone has made exit to Assets Management firm? How’s your experience and job function? Is it difficult for consultants to switch to?

Is IB worth the sacrifice of WLB? Obvious pay is really good but are the prestige and pay worth it if you’re planning on only doing it for a couple years?

Currently working at an IRA with great WLB. Honestly I love my job, the firm, and people I work with.

Also doing MBA part time at a T15 school. Thinking about switching to IB but I’ve done my research and I think I would burn out of IB in two years but I might be ok with that for the opportunities after.

How many people get promoted to S1 from A2? Didn’t do well in A1.

What are realistic expectations for 3rd Year Analyst / Direct Promote Associate bonus range at a BB? Note that at MS, 2nd year bonuses in my group last year were 90-115K, while MBA associates received a pro-rated 90K stub (~40k). Personally would be pretty unhappy to take a pay cut between 2nd and 3rd year…

When you recruiters say at the end of a 15 min call.
“I will get back to you by the end of this week” does that really mean “your not right for this position”? Because this whole thing is a waste of time. I’ve did these calls with 3 recruiters and is yet to hear back from someone. Today would be the 4th recruiter that I’ve spoken to. Does this practice annoy you guys just as much as it does us? My dream career is to be a technical recruiter but this whole thing is discouraging.

I’ve been with my current company for a little over 5 years now and since the start of the pandemic have been WFH. I absolutely love WFH and have always wanted a position in which I could WFH. For those who hire new software developers, does it make you stand out if you get your certificate from a university instead of a coding academy (like coding dojo or something)?
