I have received offer from Shell and SAP labs is in final stage salary discussion. Shell is offering 6 lacs more than @SAP labs. I have tried to negotiate a lot from SAP but they are not ready. They are putting conditions like give your full commitment to join then only we'll release offer letter. I am currently looking for work life balance with growth. Should I join @SAP considering its a Product based and good WLB and learning? Teck Stack - Java/Micro-services/cloud YOE - 11yrs

UGH I LOVE the west village. No complaints from me. Good food. Subway lines (for the most part). And it doesn’t feel as hectic as midtown. I mean only con might be price.
No rodents here. Live on 3rd floor walk up with restaurant next door.
Pro
Apartments are quite small (even by NYC standards) unless you pay a hefty price
As @Etrade said, only con I can think of is the price. Maybe also if you’d prefer to have a newer/ bigger/ doorman type building? There aren’t as many of those there.
Rising Star
Just pricey. Otherwise, perfect neighborhood to live in NYC.
Small space and pricey but you might be able to find something given the pandemic. Otherwise, you’ll find lot of food options and great social scene in the west village. Speaking long term, take into consideration where work is for you in Manhattan and that you might have to “commute”, which can add time.

Gorgeous neighborhood but not convenient for public transit. Although that is also a “pro” because being far from public transit keeps loiterers, panhandlers, homeless, crime, and crowds away from you. Go for it because it will never be this cheap again!
I imagine most everyone on this app who knows NYC agrees that the West Village is one of the best places to live in Manhattan. And that’s the reason for the biggest drawback, which is the amount you pay for the space you get.
This could be a pro or a con but NYU dominates a lot of the neighborhood so be ready for a lot of college students once things open back up
Am in final rounds with new job that would require me to relocate. If all goes well I’m looking to sublet / transfer lease on a rent stabilized <$3.2k 2br 1ba 3rd floor walk up in WV 1 block from Christopher St stop. Targeting between Mar 1 and Apr 1 move out. Should know ab job in next 2-3 wks.
I posted in another thread but figured this may be relevant here. The rent stab means this is not a covid rate and is regulated to marginal (0-3%) annual increases. This is truly a unicorn unit.
