Hey fellow PMs, why are the remote hiring companies in Canada?

I’ve been at my company for 10+ years. I’m not happy with the culture but have flexibility I enjoy, seniority for the time I’ve been here, and pays well. An new job opportunity came up as a Tax Manager but in a different industry which could expand my skillset in different ways, but is not as flexible and the pay is 20k lower. If I stay, I will be Director in few years. What will look better on a resume in the future, continued growth in 1 company or experience in more than 1 company?

I have a partner who routinely ignores emails or responds to them several weeks later. He has to approve every single document sent to the client or the court, which means you have a physically go to his office to ask him to review something. Half of the time you go to meet with him in person, he’s either on a call or otherwise busy. I find that this basically creates more work and makes meeting deadlines extremely difficult. Is this normal?

Starting a new job at Applied Materials on Monday as a Manufacturing Engineer III. I’ve been out of college for 5 years and all of my work experience till now has been in R&D for start ups and small businesses . So not only is this a new experience for me going into such a large company but also a industry (semiconductors). How do you go about getting your first project manager job

Does anyone have any RAG formulaic templates they've used in the past that they wouldn't mind sharing? Working at a company that is developing processes and we do not have a consistent/formulaic approach to RAG status. I've worked in other companies where we would do line item milestones with their own individual RAG (determined by probability+ impact) that would roll up into an overall project RAG status. But, I'm unable to find a template like that easily.

Hi! I have recently started working with a SaaS based company as a program coordinator co-op. I graduated last month and I am actively looking to get a full-time job soon. My current co-op ends in mid december and at my current company there isn’t any operations/program/project mngmt teams as of now. While my manager often indirectly hints of future opportunities in the company, he also keeps asking me to come up with interests in other departments of the company. I am not sure what this means?!

I'm currently working as a SWE and am interested in learning about the PM role and the experiences of others who switched to PM from a different role.
I enjoy customer engagement and planning/timelining work in an agile manner. These make me think I'd be a good fit for the role but I have some concerns/questions:
1. What is the pay-range compared to the average SWE pay range?
2. What skills are critical for the PM role?
3. Should I obtain Agile PM certificates?
4. Anything else I should know :)

Hi all! I’m looking for some insight as I’m thinking through the possibility of moving away from John Deere. I have 18 years with John Deere, managing anything from entire vehicle programs to smaller software or hardware feature enhancements. Prior experience in quality engineering and design engineering. I have an MS and BS. Some business consulting on the side. With the new possibilities in remote work, many new doors have opened and I’m looking for new potential challenges and opportunities.

Any interview tips for Project Manager roles in software development? I was moved to this role about 2 years ago and soon looking to jump to another company, but unsure of what to focus on talking about. I’ve tested the waters and the feedback from one interviewer who was generous enough to provide it was that I made myself sound like a technologist rather than a PM because I was too focused on the product and it’s details instead of the project management details.

I currently work as a Scrum master and eventually want to move over to being a Project manager. Any other SMs in this bowl that did the same?

And also, what advice do you have for an aspiring Project Manager? :)
