I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

Hi,
I'm currently having an offer from BlueOptima and Cohesity and am conflicted between the two.
I have offers in the SDET profile.
Cohesity Inc is providing me MTS and @BlueOptima is providing SDET-1.
Glassdoor reviews more of less place the two companies almost equally, and the package being offered by the two is almost in the same range.
My preferences include:
Learning opportunities in the role.
Company's work environment.
Company's growth prospects, are also a consideration.

Former SWE turned PM here. I’ve spent the last 5 years managing people and projects. Certified PMP last year and maintaining Sec+.
My company lost an important contract last year so I’m beating the streets and honestly surprised by what I’m finding.
I’m looking at remote opportunities at companies in HCOL and LCOL and universally, senior project management jobs are paying 30-40% less than senior SWE roles. (Technical Program Management is about on par, but these roles perform little to none of the work that interests you. Despite the name, they are more strategic rather than technical focused).
If you have an opportunity to move into this role at your current organization and pay rate, go for it! Don’t get caught trying to make the transition cold in the current job market though. It’ll be a challenge to get into your current TC as an SWE.
I used to make fun of the ‘learn to code’ memes, but I’m finding it to be cliché for a reason!
FWIW, I did find getting PMP certified resulted in considerable more interest from recruiters.
Best of luck!
This is exactly what I am finding. I slowly transitioned into being completely hands off and how I regret it now !!
