I’m new here. Can I please get some likes 😩
What's the salary range for a director at the Gilead Sciences foundation? There is a position perfect for me, but I don't want to throw my hat in the ring if starting salary isn't $180-190k. Also, any thoughts on the stability of their philanthropic commitment? There's talk of a recession; I don't want to go private to be cute a few months later.
What should my requested salary be for a Senior Intelligence Analyst position with CrowdStrike ? I have a bachelors degree and 5 years of experience as an intelligence analyst. Current salary is 56k in NC, but when I was in DC I was making 86k (big locality change)… which makes me confused on what I should expect for a remote job.

As someone living with a chronic illness, I’ve faced health challenges that I simply can’t control. Having the ability to take time off without the fear of losing my job or income has given me a sense of security and peace.Recently, I was unwell and needed extended time to rest and recover. Knowing I had the support of my benefits especially leave time meant everything.
Not the best reason to use them, but I’m truly grateful.
United States.
Health benefits packages don't do it for me. I prefer holistic treatments over drug dealers with board certification status. I do like the paid time off.
If you are interested in remote part-time work for a think tank, please let me know. I know there is a company hiring, and the salary and benefits are pretty good.
Able to provide health, vision and dental to my family and kids up to 26 years old. Plenty of choice of plans (PPOs, HMOs). This provides more flexibility for my spouse and kids (initially) to have careers without worrying about coverage.
Pension encourages retention and provides later income so that you are able to have more flexibility in other pursuits. A pension may provide a base to your future income allowing for more risk tolerance in remunerative activities including 401(k). California State employees also have access to Roth and traditional 457(b) accounts which have some advantages in flexibility. (No match by the state government though)
Vacation is something that I place a high value on. Early in my career I steered away from a certain function since the cadence of work inferred with a seasonal sport that I enjoy. You are generally able to predict work flow and demands in government and thus able to schedule longer vacations with plenty of advanced notice. Multiweek vacations are key to recharging and work/life balance.
Early in my career I also took advantage of pricey but convenient quality on site child care.
One more thing is the relatively low fees with government 401(k)'s or equivalent. Put your money in early career and enjoy the benefits of how lower fees can leave you a bigger balance in the end.
I see pay and benefits as one package. Benefits are simply pay spent on your behalf. Retirement is strong; I prefer DC over DB for control and less political risk. Some benefits are valuable, others less so. ADA and FMLA processes should be simpler and more private, like in the private sector. Health coverage was better in my past private roles. I would pay more for Blue Cross Blue Shield coverage. Time off is appreciated, though heavy workloads make it tough. I really appreciate financial perks like life insurance.
