Searching for some areas to move into starting Jan'26. Budget is max 2K pcm (excl. tax + utilities) and am searching for a 1BR (Studio also OK, provided there is some space lah).

Was initially thinking Elephant&Castle / Clapham / Balham, but have heard that the areas are sketchy and not safe to ride trains at night. Any advice?

Is a TRX sufficient for getting back into shape? I’ve definitely wasted these past two months but I probably won’t be going back to work until after July so I’ve got time to build a foundation once gyms open back up at a decent capacity

What do you all do to make non-professional / personal connections? Particularly with the Coronavirus, and being in domestic relations, I wake up, go to work, work out, go home. So outside of law, my interactions with people are only at the gym given that my area is draining— particularly at the moment. Probably a good thing for now; but if we take coronavirus out of the equation, I’m interested what others in the community do to develop personal connections.

What is the obsession and appeal for MBB among MBA grads? Is it really that amazing - from afar it seems like it may be romanticized (maybe not the right word) among applicants. I know it’s way better than the work I do now, so I’m not knocking MBB at all. It’s super impressive. Maybe a better way to phrase it is that MBA applicants seem to have a fairy tale view of consulting as a whole. I get the impression that people think a job in consulting is a magic ticket anywhere

I’ll go first: MP told me that on initial emails, I am always to start with “Hello [name],” but after the initial email, I am not to address her by name again in the same thread.
