What’s the average salary range for a GAS?
Faced this weird behaviour from Optum recently. Gave interview for Data Scientist position. HR said feedback is positive. Asked for documents. It's been month now since I have shared the documents. I have no update on the offer. Today I called HR, she called me back saying the position is on hold due to recalibration in team, She has shared interview feedbacks to other teams and will get back to me in couple of days. I am clueless now. My last working day is approaching (In a month). Any Help??

I don't really see any positives in going back, unless you don't get any other offers. It sounds like you have some good pans in the fire, which would put you on a faster track to where you want to be and pay you more upfront. I also don't think your old job can provide any stability if they already laid you off once.
Thank you! Definitely concerned about stability. And yo not get a raise or incentive to return is a just weird.
I don't blame you for feeling that way. I wouldn't go back somewhere that isn't offering you raises.

If you don’t have anything in hand can you go back and then leave the minute you get an offer? They’re not loyal to you and treating you like a contract employee so no gripes about doing it to them.
Thank you both, this is very helpful
Say no to the old one - and mocw on to newer better things. Plus since you were laid off I would ask for more money now. If not no thanks
Seriously, doesn't seem like an even remotely appealing offer.
I know some one who was laid off from my old company. They joined back a year later and they just got laid off again. Don’t go back!
Agreed. I have a relative who did the same, kept going back to the company later, but laid off twice. This last time she worked for them AGAIN on contract and nope, no job after the contract.
Not eligible for raises? Like ever? I wouldn't go back to a place that is saying they won't give you raises. If you really need a job right now maybe go back while you continue to look for something new.
Depending on how long you have been out of work and the expected start date you could always accept the job from your old company until you get a better offer. Like others have said, you should not feel any loyalty to a company that has treated you this way.
Don't go back, they've already shown you how much they value you. And it's not enough. There are better things ahead.
I hope you didn't take the offer. You'll see right then and there how much they value you as an employee. Best of luck on your future endeavors!
Thank you!!
Please don't tell me you accepted the offer? Don't put your talent and skills to waste. There are far better companies that will value your worth.
I literally had the same thing happen to me recently. DO NOT GO BACK! Assuming there’s a severance, you’ll likely lose that and why would you go back to an environment that’s already told you what you’re worth to them?
When I was laid off I was already well down the road with several roles, all of which paid me more than the one from which I was laid off. I got one of them one week after I was laid off. Kept the severance AND got the better job!
Accept the position until you get those offers you really want and deserve . You owe them nothing and clearly they are doing what’s best for their bottom line.
I will just thank them and move on to new adventures. There's a lot of opportunities out there.
