I find tracking calories through an app like MyFitnessPal, while focusing on moderation and hitting my calorie goals, versus cutting out any particular foods works really well. Also, set a goal calorie deficit that has you losing weight gradually over time. Best of luck to you! ❤️
It’s more about healthy habits than strict restriction. I try to just eat more veggies when I can (like mindlessly snacking on mini carrots while I’m deciding what to eat for lunch) and exercising when I don’t feel like it.
Thanks, friend 😌
I’ve started a plan in May and lost 4 lbs (net of muscle gain), I know it’s not very drastic (I only plan to lose 15lbs altogether) but here is what I do for reference.
Diet: I’ve cut out sugar, carbs and alcohol by about 80%. It’s not a very restrictive no carb diet, i don’t worry much about carbs in fruits, veggies or cereals, etc. Basically I cook protein and veggies for dinner, and pass on pasta, rice, potato or bread. I’ve also cut out processed food and high fat protein by about 90%, which means I have salmon, turkey, tofu or chicken for protein. We indulge in small portions on the weekend.
Workout: it’s not very structured, just try to be active for a bit everyday, it could be taking a long walk, or a quick run, then add some sort of weight or resistant training 2 to 3 times a week.
Sounds like a healthy plan!
Intermittent fasting. I do the 16:8 one. Fast 16 hours, eat for 8. 12:30-8:30pm. Good luck!
I think finding an exercise that is fun for you helps. I've had a few friends that have had a lot of success with F45 type exercises. I did a low carb diet and started running. If you can swing it - I'd suggest working with a trainer or nutritionist for the best results / making sure you are doing everything in a healthy way.
I did about a month of noom (before full price kicked in) which gave me a few nice lessons as a starting point. I drink a lot of water, try to eat a lot of protein, and try to watch my caloric intake.
I was also working out 5 days a week but I wound up with a stress fracture in my hip so I’m stuck on crutches for the next 8 weeks. Trying to lose weight without cardio is zero fun.
