During salary negotiations with Infosys. HR : what is the offer you holding? Me : 40 HR : We would not be able to match that. Me : yes I understand, but you need to compensate me on some other parameters, maybe onsite opportunity. You cannot say since this is Infosys, take 30 or leave. HR : no, the max we can offer is 26. 😸😸

Ahaha do we work at the same place 👀🧍♀️ this is precisely why I’m leaving this weekend. I have no advice but you can’t force someone to see something they aren’t willing to recognize. Since I’m leaving I’ve been training my backfill and ooooooh boyyyyyy these people are in for a big surprise — sounds like it’s similar for you too.
Actually @SDA1 I booked a week long vacation in November 😎 during one of the most busiest times from the looks of it too hahaha
Cc your manager on all emails to show your work.
Ok! I'll start doing that...
And fun fact, I haven't gotten compensated fairly for working the senior role OR got a promotion since taking on those responsibilities... And when discussing promotions with the manager, he believes I'm not ready or capable... Even though the senior (who moved to a different team but is indirectly working with the projects I finish) has said I've been doing fantastic. (2)
I totally relate to this. I suggest keeping lists of projects/successes prepared to make more concrete for conversions with manager, maybe even saving (if in message/email) some of the positive feedback from others as evidence, referring to the job description and the senior level job description, and finally maybe exploring a different role in the company... Not sure about your company structure and size but when I was in a similar situation I found the solution for me was to move laterally (kept same job level title) to an adjacent department that had a slightly more advanced role and better pay even at the same level. Moving into a new role with a new manager even at the same level was much better paying and more room for growth in the direction I want being out from the manager who saw me come up but didn't recognize I was already doing the role of the next level up in that team.
I was told this exact same advice eerily from my old coworker!! They suggested that when moving in the company to a different team to move UP not straight lol. So I will probably do that... Definitely gonna start documenting all my work and make sure I'm seen even if it's annoying
I completely feel the same way. I do a lot…always step up…save all emails, document all my work, I’m paid decent but probably not what I should be. I went to take another position a few years back somewhere else and was talked into staying because they would have a senior role for me soon, sadly I have to tell my bosses how to do their job. Then someone that was here less than 2 years (I’ve been here 16) was promoted to a senior role. I’ve taken their internal business leadership classes, external management classes, have proven myself time and time again. I was told by another CEO recently that if they had a position for me they would hire me because they thought I wouldn’t be promoted to the position I deserved because of my company being controlled by a specific gender. It’s sad, because I really thought I would retire here. Started sending resumes out and interviewing a week ago.
This is exactly what I'm worried about and is why I'm so frustrated that I'm not being acknowledged for my work! The fact that countless people who are involved with me express their gratitude for the work I do speaks volumes... And yet my manager just doesn't see it... I'm just gonna add them as an optional attendee for literally all my meetings so that they can see I'm not sitting around twiddling my thumbs
