I enjoy doing home projects like switches, fans, and lights, and I love working with tools. I’m thinking of switching careers and wonder: what’s the best path to reach $100k+ in California? Union, apprenticeship, solar/EV work, or something else? Also, can my software background help in automation or smart homes?

Per SHRM, I was just curious if any HR Professionals completely removed the following fields: social security number, recommend salary, graduation dates, military discharge info, race, maiden name like (Ms. Mrs. Ms), & criminal history questions. Anyone have advice for advancing in your current role? My co-worker was hired in at manager level but somehow “proved” he was actually doing director level work and got a title promotion and salary increase in less than a year. I also went above and beyond my job as well (covering for him for a month while he was away on paternity leave) while taking on other projects outside of my job title and got zip—no raise or recognition. I was forcefully released from HCL services saying my BGV is not clear and was released the very same day. Now I am being asked to pay for basic salary of 89 days notice period +18% GST.. WHAT TO DO PLEASE HELP. I am being asked to pay 1,65,000/- and I was forced to leave HCL in 22 days.

If you make it to senior manager at big four can you leave and become partner or director at mid size firm? Is this hard to do? Received an offer for equity research and IB, both in toronto. ER paying $120k base and my understanding is that bonus can be around 25-30%. IB is paying $105k base but likely higher bonus? Which one would u choose if you think you would be good at both

What do you think about working for a defense and space contractor? I currently work at a large space contractor and it’s awful.
