I have designer bags, multiple love bracelets, Cartier watch, diamond Tiffany necklaces and earrings… and the cheapest clothes. I love the Gap, target, etc. I don’t think it looks weird at all. I feel like clothes just aren’t a good investment in the same way as jewelry, bags, and shoes.

I hadn’t quite thought of it this way but I agree. As long as the clothes fit my body well, and look put together (not wrinkled, see through fabric) I’ll buy it. Bags and jewelry is where I tend to ball out. Lol.

Lately I’ve been shopping the most at Neiman Marcus, Anthropologie, and Revolve! A few brands I’ve been into lately include Misa Los Angeles, Farm Rio, Alice + Olivia, Lovers + Friends, Amanda Uprichard, Rag and Bone, Veronica Beard, and Cinq a Sept. Will shop for statement pieces that I think will stand the test of time. I also like shopping at Dillard’s which is a bit more affordable than some of the above and has a nice selection of cute things! That being said I’m good at shopping deals (occasionally buying things full price) and also will mix in a lot of less expensive basics from like J. Crew, Loft, and even Free People. I also will shop around Poshmark and ThredUP and sometimes find crazy deals! Like I bought a pair of $300 Rag and Bone jeans that were in excellent condition for $20 on Poshmark, and a $200 Lovers + Friends dress new with tags on ThredUP for $30. And have a few Rebecca Taylor pieces for work from ThredUP as well. I also sell items I’m ready to move on on both sites to get more money to play with!

Are you looking for work outfits or casual? What style do you like? Bright prints? Neutrals? Clean lines?

I love Theory.

I’m very much a Zara & Abercrombie girl and also love my Cartier ring & other designer bags, I try to keep things neutral so my clothes look nicer than they are lol When I do splurge, I get basic pieces from COS and the cut is always so simple yet elegant

I’ve been in my current role for 9 months but am actively interviewing for roles at a 50%+ pay increase. I just received a promotion and won’t know comp until 10/5 but know it’s nowhere close to the other positions. Is it wrong to leave so close to being promoted? Will I burn bridges?

Any advice on managing expectations? I’ve always had this dream to move to Europe for a couple years and travel the continent. The older I get the more I realize this will never happen for me. However, I see my friends doing it and it really cuts deep because I realize I can’t achieve my dreams. How do you deal with accepting things like this? It’s really taking a toll on my mental health and overall ability to be happy.

SEEKING OPINIONS & FEEDBACK: I love the honest & practical discussions here, where people can freely identify things that are going on & seek guidance. Wondering whether anybody’d be interested in some kind of more purposeful community- i.e., gathering w/fellow lawyers to pursue some specific mental health & well-being goals? We’d provide some counseling/coaching type content, in bite sized chunks, but have regular discussions to connect & encourage one another on applying the content IRL.
