What you really want to know is if some specific medication is covered. There is not some standard list of "specialty medications " when it comes to insurance. It is going to vary by plan. You need to talk to HR if this is important to you
It won't. The term "specialty medications" while used on some insurance plans is not a universal term. Some plans don't even use this term. Some plans for instance may refer to medications as Tier 1, tier 2, and tier 3. Some plans may just split out brand and generic. My plan has a deductible which after I meet just covers 100% regardless of type of medication.
Almost any plan will say they cover "specialty medications " (coverage is typically defined by the covering medically necessary medications). That does not mean they cover YOUR medication or tell you what is involved in the pre-approval process (i.e. what other therapies you must try first).
I can check for you if you are still looking for an answer
You could ask them…
I did ask them and the internal talent acquisition person has been unable to tell me. So I am trying here.
GLP? You can ask for their benefits brochure for 2026. That's a standard part of considering any offer. My company specifically called out increased coverage for GLPs in our 2026 brochure
And thank you but no it’s not GLP 1. Though I shppprt access to that for who want or need it.
